Under study is a plan to use television in the classrooms as an audio-visual in- structional aid . . . another First Time for Western. Faculty Grganizes to Meet Future Problems Inspired by the challenge of future as well as present educational problems and opportunities in the Anaheim High School District, of which Western is a part, Western teachers have estab- lished an enviable reputation for their contribu- tions to the effective instructional methods and scholastic attitudes that prevail here. We students at Western are conscious of the emphasis placed upon the necessity for mastery of basic skills, the value of an eagerness to learn, the development of disciplined study habits and the opportunities of a broad and enriched cur- riculum. Such awareness is directly credited to the superior abilities and enthusiasm of our teachers. ln spite of the emphasis on studies and learn- ing, appreciation is extended to our faculty for their considered interest in us as individuals - for we do have our own problems . . . and often- times we find a teacher helps us more by a few minutes of personal counsel than by hours of formal lesson explanation. Further, our appreciation extends to our teachers for their many hours of extra time de- voted to assisting with our games, organizations and social activities. 18
