New Counseling Program Started Highly respected Counselors Elbert Bales and Mrs, Joan Kuhns have the duties of assist- y 1+'ff?,f 3 ing in scheduling students to meet individual Mfg' L needs, help adjust behavior problems and ad- ' vise with study difficulties. Whatever con- cerns our Sophomore, Mr. Bales and Mrs. Kuhns seem tireless in their unending efforts to help. Counselors Florence Jones and Glen Dysinger have had the difficult task of helping organize and schedule our first Junior Class. Assisting individuals to maintain a balance between activities and studies, pro- moting enthusiasm for high standards and keeping the lid on those who tend to get out of line--all this has been accomplished in a firm but reasonable and pleasant way. Freshman Counselor Clinton Thomas is a wise and patient man who seems marvelously able to bring the light of day to even the most difficult of our impetuous Freshmen. Master of test data and a keen insight into human nature has enabled him to help many young students hurdle the first year problems. Y? aw, ,159- Organizer of test materials and procedures and acknowledged expert in test evaluations Head Counselor Dave Baarstad well deserves the plaudirs he and his staff have received for having established one of the outstanding counseling departments in the State, A num- ber of University Educator Seminars have been devoted to discussion of Westerns counseling program. ll
