We, the students, remember, our memories will be with us as long as we have feeling and thought. We do not need material things to keep Western alive for us. But of what stuff are memories made? Memories are the flowers that bloom from the seeds of actions, and as years go by they remain in our minds merely as translucent petals weaving through our conscious thoughts. Western should not come to be a wisp of clouded thought that touches our minds and lingers briefly only to vanish again into the haze of half thoughts. We must, then, strive to chain Western to us completely. We must create here a tangible retainer filled with pleasurable things to give substance to our half remembered thoughts and to clear the haze and permit us to re-live our days at Western. ln these, the pages of WEST- WARD HOI, we sow the seeds of our actions, that they may flower and re-bloom again and again as captured memories.
