LIBRARY SERVICE Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested. FRANCIS BACON Of Studies There are many different types of books, and there are many diHerent ways of judging the value of individual books. This judgment is personal, and entirely up to the individual. Opinions of books are relative and a high school pupil must often have guidance. In forming an opinion of a book a background of good literature is also important. Miss Mary Horsey, Westernis librarian, helps the girls of Western not only by guiding their reading program, but also by pro- viding them with an excellent collection of good literature. x .57 , MXX x S A .
