ART DEPARTMENT Q Art is the right hand of nature. The latter has only given us beingg the former has made us menf, SCHILLER from F iesco Nature has created man, and man has in turn created art. This creative ability is the factor which distinguishes man from all other creatures. It is the intent of the Art Department to develop in the student the skill to express ideas in forms of art. Instruction is offered in the fields of sculpture, ceramics, sketching, painting, and commercial design. Neat- ness, originality, and evidence of effort are emphasized in all pieces of work. An extra-curricular group, the art serv- ice club, embellishes the building with its colorful posters publicizing various functions of the school. The art depart- ment has certainly contributed to the refinement of the abilities which differ- entiate and elevate us from all other beings.
