The members of the National Honor Society are selected on the basis of character, leadership, scholarship, and ser- vice; in addition, they must maintain a 90 or above average. The N.H.S. encourages and promotes scholarship and carries out a number of activities throughout the year. Activities this year included canvassing for the scholarship fund and aiding area schools in organizing the successful state convention. The N.H.S. also published a student directory. S. Chisholm and H. Amick work out committees at a N.H.S. meeting.

They express an interest in, and have the qualities for, becoming secre- taries. Being associated with the local chapter of the Na- tional Secretaries Association helps develop desirable traits and gives a better understanding of the business world. A point sheet is kept by all of the members of the club. It is based on the attendance of club meetings, special school work, and special chapter work.
