Because they are planning a teaching career themselves, the Future Teachers of America plan their activities around the Western High teachers. This year the F.T.A. enjoyed “refreshing” the teachers at faculty meetings; choosing a teacher of each month and a teacher of the year; and helping English teachers tally votes for the mini-courses. The Exchangettes of Western High worked toward ‘Unity for Service” by performing such service projects as cleaning the school parking lot and collecting contributions for Mul- tiple Sclerosis. Mrs. S. Bailiff and Mrs. D. Thompson led the girls through their assorted monthly projects. The Exchangettes and Exchange Club combined to work on a float for Homecoming festivities using the theme, ‘Get High On Warrior Spirit.” They won first place for the second consecutive year. Exchangettes wrap presents of Christmas cheer. 40
