Russell, Jr., in addition to being chaplain of the Civinette Club and secretary of the VICA Club also takes an active part in the Spanish Club and the Human Rela- tions Committee. In the talent competition, Debra charmed the audience with her singing of ‘Exodus’. Through beauty, talent, and school activities, she has truly be- come a part of Western. Congratulations Debra! ERE Sonenanreermeatiieaiemnasin Miss Western Western talent and beauty was dis- played to the fullest degree at the Miss Western Pageant Saturday, November 20. As the lovely girls pa- raded across the stage, the audience stared in awe to see daughters and classmates transformed into elegant young women. “Color my World” served as the theme for this year’s pageant. The pageant is sponsored annually by the Student Council. Five finalists in the 71-72 Miss Western Pageant — LEFT TO RIGHT: Sherri Franklin, 3rd — Barbara Blanks, 2nd — Debra Russell, Miss WHS — Vivian Stubblefield, 1st — and Miss Congeniality — Becky Zufall, 4th. 27
