When visions and dreams _ be- came a reality and Western High School opened its doors as a new educational facility there were a number of teachers ready to give support and guidance. Among this group was one who has never wavered in her endeavors to bring out the potential in each of her students. Because of her loyalty, her zeal, and her earnest devotion, the Annual Staff dedicates the We- Hi-Wa to Mrs. Evelyn Reeves Terrell. Miss Debbie Basham has delighted Warrior fans with her smile as their Homecoming Queen during her senior year. Debbie has been active as the FSA presi- dent and participates in many other school activities, one of which is Circulation Man- ager for the West Side Story. Debbie was escorted by Leon Saul. Russell, Jr., in addition to being chaplain of the Civinette Club and secretary of the VICA Club also takes an active part in the Spanish Club and the Human Rela- tions Committee. In the talent competition, Debra charmed the audience with her singing of ‘Exodus’. Through beauty, talent, and school activities, she has truly be- come a part of Western. Congratulations Debra! Vivian Stubblefield captivates her co-contestants to win the award of Miss Congeniality. ERE Sonenanreermeatiieaiemnasin Miss Western Western talent and beauty was dis- played to the fullest degree at the Miss Western Pageant Saturday, November 20. As the lovely girls pa- raded across the stage, the audience stared in awe to see daughters and classmates transformed into elegant young women. “Color my World” served as the theme for this year’s pageant. The pageant is sponsored annually by the Student Council. Long, hot, summer practice proves to be only half of what was expected of the Warriors. The Varsity was led by its mature upperclassmen and many qualified underclassmen. This was a good team and they had a good year of pride and sportsmanship, finishing the season with a 14-2 overall record in the conference.
