The work they do means a great deal to them as well as to the school. They have a B or above average, high citizenship rating, an attitude of helpfulness, neatness of person and dress, willingness to do any task assigned, and are taught to assume a professional attitude while on duty. Students helping with library service receive one credit for two years of work. They give one hour of service daily and are expected to do a certain amount of library study, involving an examination at the end of the school year. They are organized into a Library Club, which is affiliated with the District and State High School Library Association. The club sponsors an annual talent show and takes a field trip each year to some outstanding high school or college library.
