figure aw ,il 5 ,Mai The Western High School Wrestling teams came up with many surprises, ending their 1972-73 season with flair. Although the 4-win - 7-loss record was dis- heartening, individual members gained recognition. Among the many members who improved greatly this year were Fred Loud and Ed Kleinfeldt, both showing many wins. An important title, Fred captured a lst in the conference. Dennis Clemet also had a good season. Although sus- taining an ear injury in the middle of the year, he con- tinued in fine form. Just missing a title at the state finals, he grabbed 1st place honors at the Regional and District tournaments. The wrestling season ended in fine style for Jeff Sabin. As a senior Jeff had a slow start but ended with many firsts, including the 105 pound state title. The most unexpected and prestigious award came from scho- lastic Wrestling News, informing Jeff he was on the lst team All-American, selected from the outstanding seniors throughout the United States.
