alf-Time Performers A Spirit Crowd During the year, halftime played a very impor- tant role in the sports events. The majorettes helped to lead the marching band for half- time performances during football games. They also headed the band in the Memorial Day Parade in Parma. The Pom Pom girls also performed during football half-times and an occasional basketball half-time. -1 , W., W4 H '--' -' f 1 ' -'---- M1- -fic' 1wwwvwvf 1 f fp 1 mf , QQWW' ,W TQ, -gf' .g 4,,, 11 fr ,Az 11: f11fmgg2231., -V , 1251 , A 1 V 1 f WM ew www, . 5,5 Wy ,gig 4 g, , 2, Q ,gag ,T 1 ftwfw11uf,,M 71 may ..1u,,W g-.J 5-M. ,,,-.1mzfl me ,,,,,, N,,,,,1 W ' 5 M 4 ,W X gt J W4 , , Y' . e: f1 ,iff L1, -, .7 . if 7 Cn ' L 1 , 3, 4 it 1 We f,,1 w ,,:..--155-,, 0 WW.l:,'o1,:L1251eig?:,WL7:.'o A 1513-?.lv4.sL ff'-', i1e?'1fV't'fQf,' , . - Vw . - ,f y i, 11 ' r f,,1f.,, ,1 -11 ':7: ,.- I 11 'A-- ij' '. 521,f,4b?eg,I5It'f?2T,:ii,,'MfQ'?,'?Y'g4lfZY,Y'lf?Z.Ql,Qi:z :7-Qiftkiwf' Z - fr ,gf . ,1 ',Q'!ffgi-2ZLdj'Q'f5535554,ff'Wf,, ,.. -- 4f',,,,. - ,ff K 4' .- - 2111! gl Milf: Cfkgi5,:'i3,1:,vYVZ+QrLs Q?-9171915115fl'.L!!z?fQz7fi2l5'3T',Vfd. Striving for perfection in their performances at various school functions, the Western band worked hard and practiced many long hours under the directions of Mr. Hurley and Mr. Moore. Several activities were accompanied by the band, such as halftime shows, several concerts and even background music for the spring musical. Obtaining new uniforms this year was also a big event. Through the persistence and hard work of the Band Boosters Organization, the purchase of the new uniforms was finally ac- complished, raising the spirits of not only the band members, but also of the whole student body. 1. Band director, Mr. Dennis Hurley, conducts the band at halftime. 2. Hard work and practice are the source of im- provement. 3. Oompah-oompah and the beating of drums resound on the football field as the marching band per- forms. 4. Head Major, Dave Gibbs, stands solemnly being measured for a new uniform. 5. Struttingtheir stuff, band members march proudly in their new uniforms. 6. Half- time festivities find the band forming an hourglass as one of their maneuvers. 7.
