fallplay Hard Work is Rewa rded by Success The confusion and humor of post-war occupa- tion was portrayed by Western students in their interpretation of TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON. The comedy by John Coggan surrounded the adventures of a misfit Army captain and his efforts to Americanize a small Okinowan village. Authentic costuming and set design added to the delight of the performance. The entrance of a live goat proved to be the most surprising of the techniques used to captivate the audience. Casting the lead roles produced an unusual situation. Craig Raehtz and Brian Conklin shared the role of Sakini the interpreter. Each played in one performance. Likewise, the lead- ing female role of Lotus Blossom was shared by Debbie Drake and Linda Wilson. Merle Dav- enport completed the cast of major charac- ters as Captain Fisby. Director Mrs. Pauline Zeller, student director Kathy Bowersox, the cast and stage crews cel- ebrated the success of their endeavors with a dinner at Bill Knapps.
