baseball Pitchers Show Skill Although the Panther Team had returning letter- men, the season was a disappointing one. Even though the hitting as well as the defense, was not up to par, some fine pitching performances were turned in by our three hurlers, Dan Chapel, Gary Bailey, Greg Clark. Finishing with a heartbraking 11-11 record, 6-8 in the conference, the team showed little improvment over last year. Captain Dan Chapel was voted Most Valuable and named to the All-Conference Team with Jerry Steele receiving Most Improved honors. Carig Raehtz received All-Conference Honorable Mention for the second year in a row with team hit- ting leader, Jerry Steele, also receiving Honorable Mention for the first time with over a .400 batting average.
