lnspiring dramat'cs interpreted by acting prose Lights! Camera! Action! Westem War- riors enter stage right. Once again the thespians of Western l-ligh have achieved a dramatic breakthrough in performing. The two year old Thespian Club became an influential part of the Western tradition. Besides attending Doc' Ross' Theatre classes to improve their technical acting skill, the club members helped to promote the spirit of Western. They did this by working hard in class as well as placing well in competi- tion. The Halloween dance and Horror House, which were sponsored by the club, proved that our Warriors have tal- ent. lt won't be long before our actors become superstars. There is a more serious and less glam- ourous side to our talented actors. Each student learns and uses many different exercises and practices hard to perfect hisfhertechniaue. lVlany of the more serious Warriors were involved in local and regional competition. Terri Leach, Giovanna Sardelli, Venus Car- ter, and Tina Monda all represented Western, in competition, with the enthu- siasm that could only be interpreted on the highest level of accomplishment. is X 'I 2 T kai 'Wi l Stanley Scheiner Charles R. Ari Class Requires Hard Work and Determination , . ,Ay,,,..,....s 'x The Arts and Crafts department of WHS was certainly not lacking in variety this year. Besides the traditionally offered classes such as painting, film, ceramics, and photography: there were many new interests. One of these was air- brushing, a process used to decorate T-shirts and Vans. These omamented articles of clothing could be seen on many students this year. When asked about differences in the department between this year and last, art teacher Mrs. Slade remarked upon the lower number of students enrolled in art clas- ses this year. She feels that this is due, in part, to the stricter requirements en- forced bythe Clark County School Dis- trict. But the art department more than made up for their small number with hard work and detemwination, as shown on these pages. 459,-u 3 we il.Vf William F. Plrtte Art, Social Studies x l xl l Robert E.
