According To Coach McFarland, Paul lVlaTherly is one of The mosT valuable players on The Team because of his excepTional piTching and fielding skills. BoTh men were experienced in coaching sporis. Coach Phillips TaughT for fifTeen years and coached for nine. Coach STeTTs was new This year, buT he has Taughl five years in junior highs, all of These five years he coached sporls. The girls were in good hands. The girls worked hard To earn one of The sixTeen varsiTy Team spaces. For The firsT Time in a few years, The junior varsiTy coach had To make cuTs.- There were seven reTum- ing varsiTy players who assisTed in The Teams sTraTegy. PracTice was held on week days and The games were on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The exercises consisTed of run- ning The field, running drills, baTTing pracTice, Throwing The ball, and calisThenics. 1.
