WesTern Warriors Come Home WiTh Pride Friday, OcTober16Th was very memorable for The many people who crammed inTo The gym here aT WesTem. Many felT ThaT The Home- coming assembly was The besT assembly since 1978. The alumni were awed by The amounT of spiriT displayed by all. Even many faculTy members commenTed abouT The sTudenT enThusiasm. Every- one parTicipaTed in The cheers, sang along wiTh The songs, and had a really good Time. The senior class seemed especially rowdy wiTh The joy of seeing old friends and The Thrill of winning The many com- peTiTions. AlThough The sophomore and junior classes were suffering from defeaT, They exhibiTed more spiriT Than many of The alumni had ever wiTnessed. Many alumni said They could noT have been prouder To come home. 1. Preparing To presenT The flag aT The Homecoming assembly is The Jr. ROTC color guard. 2. Coach SmiTh delivers his Tradifional WE speech aT The Homecoming as- sembly. 3. Displaying TheirspiriT, many seniors wearTheir headbands. 4. Homecoming forThe alumni is reuniTing wiTh old friends. 5. The beaufiful Homecoming backdrop was designed and painTed by Leah Hall and ChrisTine Ferguson. 6. EscorTing Coach ShelTon, 1981-82 Homecoming Grand Marshal, is Laura Walsh. 7. Sally Rhoades al- ways performs wiTh a smile. 8. 1980-81 Homecoming Queen, Krisanne Malloy, and her escorT, BrenT Gamer, refum for The Homecoming assembly. 9. Showing Their enfhu- siasm and spiriT are seniors Maria Juergens and Laura Coon. 10. Joining TogeTher To increase school spiriT are The sophomores and junior classes. 11. The classes had four days during The week To build Their floaTs, and while building The floaTs, The auTo shop area was a real mess.
