t, . r-Mi, Q , AA 'w,.,A I f-.... t jg -.. 41? - People who care show it in different ways One of the things which makes our school great is the large number of staff members who really care and get involved. This Page, Top, Nancy Stenger and Debbie Mathis showed a willingness to be a part of the action on Halloween. Binnie Douglas wallpapered her bleak office during the summer so that students would feel ,more welcome. Ealine Sherman is always willing to lend a helping hand whereever it is needed. Mike Edwards not only built his own office from a conference room, but also provided the muscle and expertise on the painting. Bottom, When Kim Nunez and Nancy Meyer dressed for Hal- loween it was hard to tell the teacher from the student. The ladies of the gypsy tearoom helped to make the front office a more pleasant place. They are Nita Iddings, Gretchen Payne, Ann Longhofer, Nancy Smith, Mae Dobson, Norma Winterroth, and Mona Bradley. Opposite Page, Two of the witches who had the most fun on Halloween are Alan LaRocque and Bobby Thompson.

Vice-principals pull together to make Western outstanding This year the vice-principals entered into the full scope of activities and curriculum in such a complete way that their total involvement encouraged everyone-faculty and student body alike-to get it together. The appreci- ation and respect which they have earned are only partially reflected in these pages. Opposite Page, Top, Vice-principal, Mike Edwards waits patiently for the Homecoming Queen finalists to get into the trucks for the pre-game parade. Vice-principal, Don Burger watches students try to find their home on the maps before they vote. Vice-principal Dennis Rosch watches the flags perform. Henningsen, Mike Edwards, and Don Burger proudly score a faculty victory in the Homecoming chariot race with Vic Entzel driving. Center, Float judges, Barbara Smith and Mike Edwards confer over judging standards. Bruce Miller, Dennis Rosch, and John Perri talk about the progress of the Homecoming Events. Don Burger rehearses his Homecoming remarks with his girl for the evening, Laurel Jackson. Don Burger reviews the procedure for distributing scholarship information with photogenic counselor, Donna Schaefer. Bottom, The three assistants listen attentively to the opening day A to Z report.
