Drama The play is the thing! .... If you don't believe.this just ask any drama enthusiast of Western High School. One of the pro- ductions seen was our own Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward. The Thespians also had an exchange play entitled, Night Must Falli' by Ernlyn Williams. Another production was planned for spring. .Z-inn Landers Assembly DEAR ANN - . . Ann Landers the pert problem-solvern of the Chicago Sun Syndicate was wel- comed by XVestern High School with an assembly. Miss Landers came to us through the courtesy of Mr. Hank Greenspun, Pub- lisher of the Las Vegas Sun.

Frosted. Fantasy The warm smiles and laughs of three candidates, chosen by Pep Club as the most charming, added a beautiful glow to the all-school Frosted Fantasy . Ar- dis Koerwitz, reigned over her 'Kwinter wonderland with the graciousness of a true queen. On each side, her attendants, Dawn Anderson and Lynne Dee Shortt fulfilled the memorable picture of our first appearance at this an- nual dance. Hush Day MR IRRESISTIBLE-From left, runner-up Dennis Patarcly, Rose Mary Burke, Fred WVillis, winner, Nancy Gabrielle, and Lana McCom1ick. Lynne Dee Shortt, Arclis Koerwitz, Dawn Anderson. Shh ..... VVas the whisper of girls on the designated Hush Day sponsored by the major- ettes. During the dance follow- ing, junior Fred Willis was crowned Mr. Irresistible by the girls who couldn't help speaking to him, thus forfeiting their tick- ets. This occasion established a tradition which will be enjoyed by all in following years.

Sadie Hawlzinsflfillll Bare-foot girls and bearded boys were seen running through Dogpatch Calias VVestern High Schoolj on the day designated as Sadie Hawkins. This event, sponsored by the A, Cappella Choir, was enjoyed by all and it is hoped that this activity will be continued in future years. -70-
