Varsity Lettermen,s club had an energetic first year at Western High School and is aiming for bigger and better things in the future as the club grows in size and stature. Not only does the club serve to re- ward athletes in various sports but it is also organized to as- sist many school functions and programs. The Letter- men's Club, under President Harry Hartsell, has backed many Western activities .... Selling programs at basket- ball games, sponsoring dances, putting on a donkey basketball game with the fac- ulty and many other things have earned the club a solid name and established a solid foundation on which to aim . . . for the future. Pep Band Starting With a bang, the Pep Band, known as the Tomahawks, helped rouse school spirit at all the basketball games and assemblies this year. Whether playing the A National Anthem or the school song, the Toma- hawks resounded loudly and clearly . . . The Iunior Varsity and Varsity Dance Bands have played at dances and concerts, showing their talent for the modern and conventional beat ....
