The question arose, What is the situation in our own schools? Has our school shown an a- wareness of the problem? The overwhelming conclusion was that it has. A very definite at- tack is being made toward changing undesirable conditions and steps have been taken to- ward the attainment of higher educational goals. Although this process seems to be gradual, it was considered by the various panels and classes that high a- mong the important steps taken in the right direction here at Western are: ill a two-diploma system tacademic and generall mm hmm :pf im: t2l the Honor Honor Society Checks Averages The National Honor Society of Western High School has started a new project of enforcing Art- icle VII, Section 3 of the Student Association Constitution which states, no student is eligible to hold an office or position unless he maintains at least a C aver- age. Honor Society members Mary Lou Sneed, Patsy White, Rachel Bingaman, Sandy Cobb, and Ju- dy Huff, have been averaging the grades of each of the thirty members oi the Student Council at the end of the last six weeks. If in any six weeks period a members average 'drops below C only slightly texamplez CCDDJ, he is suspended from the Council the following six weeks period.
