Western art students are given the opportunity to develop a greater understanding and creative experiences in many of the visual arts. They often help shape a life long appreciation and interest in a wide variety of experiences found in this department. Vocational interests connected directly with the advanced fields of art and also the vocational areas indirectly with art are discussed and explored. These careers are discussed through an in-depth exploration of processes which involve the techniques, skills, ideas and the art students. There is a large assortment of techniques which allow a student to express his or her talents. A few of these techniques include sculpture, clay construction, paintings, printmaking, jewelry designing, and both perspective and figure drawing.
