TUDE T C0 CIL KEEP MG I G Student Council members listen intently to the agenda of the meeting. Western Student Council played an important role in school this year. During the course of the year Student Council planned various activities for the students such as dances, assemblies, fund raising drives, and spirit week. Student Council consists of two Co-Chairmen, secretary, treasurer and eight representatives from each class. Elections were held last spring except for the freshmen. Due to millage defeat, the elected Co-Chairmen chose to attend another school, therefore, new Co-Chairmen had to be elected. Student Council decided to give the seats to the next running mates, Linda Prill and Mary Ellen Kelly. Along with the Co-Chairmen is Secretary Beth Birr and Treasurer Judy Reder. Student Council gratefully acknowledges the help given by Mr. Charles Schwartz, Mr. Dick Syring, Mr. Wayne Przybylski, Mr. Ralph Brissette and Mr. Elmer Link. Also many thanks to all who helped them throughout the school year for without their help and cooperation Student Council could not have been as successful. Q 54 Mr. Syring listens to the Student Council. Do you have something important to discuss Gigi Wessely? Q 'Wwe Kelly Coates wants to voice her opinion while Paul Steih and Jay Handy seem to be another place Ma ,s . rr

Getting It All Together was our choice for the theme in the 1979 yearbook. The class this year was the biggest since Western opened. With 17 seniors, 14 juniors and 2 sophomores. We all strived to make the '79 book the best year ever in spite of the lack of extracurricular activities. With 16 returning staff members the class hopes to carry on their tradition of great yearbooks.
