Kathy Behmlander was in her fourth year at Western. She was actively involved in the art program and had plans to major in art. In her senior year Kathy was a member of the yearbook staff. She died in a car accident in the fall of 1978. Cindy Koch was very active in sports and participated on volleyball, basketball and softball teams. Her favorite hobbies were reading and macrame. As a freshman the tirst year Western opened, Cindy died of pneumonia.

OF 1977. Mrs. Reif was Western's first ln 1941 she graduated from School of Nursing, receiving her Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University in 1960. She was Assistant Supervisor of Nursing for the Bay City Health Department. ln 1966 she began working for the Bay City Public School System and came to Western when it opened in 1973. She passed away of cancer. Mrs. Holyszko served as the school nurse here at Western from 1974 to 1977 She worked for 15 years at Hospital in the Pediatric before coming to Western. was very active in church and work and enjoyed She passed away of cancer ' 'S Mr. Toth taught science in Bay City schools for 18 years and spent his last five at Western. In 1949 he graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina and received his Masters from Michigan State. He was the head volleyball coach at Western and enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, hiking and traveling. He passed away of canc Mr. Hoag was a social studies teacher at Western from 1973 until 1978. He taught for 20 years at Handy High School before Western opened. He was a graduate of Roosevelt University in Illinois and received his Masters from the University of' Michigan. He enjoyed target shooting and traveling. He passed away of cancer in 1978. AQ- 4. ai. Cf. Mrs. Walther was a cook during Western's first year.
