J X 1 3 px ' if xx s it X Jr 1 965 TRACK SQUAD Track Season: In the process of rebuilding around such seniors as John Van Drew, Larry Frank, Rick Thomas, and Allan Vander Meersch, Western's track team won its fourth con- secutive track championship. Because of the fine group of underclassmen, Western can look forward to a fine year in 1965 and 1966. Most productive members, point-wise, of this year's squad aside from the seniors already mentioned were Jerry Rodgers, Tom Vander Meersch, John Behrends, Bill Runft, Jim Bickett, and Les Newman. The varsity track team was bolstered by fine Fresh-Soph relay teams. Highlights of the season aside from the conference championship were the first-place trophy in the Hall Red Devil Relays in Spring Valley, and a second place finish in the conference meet. 45
