Eighth Grode Chorus The Western Junior High chorus participated in three contests this year, receiving a supe- rior rating at the District and Regional contests and an excellent rating at the State Contest. The Heavyweight did pretty well this year with the guidance of coaches Funderberg and Strawbridge. They learned many of the basic skills involved in basketball and improved con- siderably as the year progressed. The Western Lightweight basketball team had a very impressive season this year compiling an 18-0 record. They also won the first place trophy for the Little Eight Lightweight Tourna- ment. Most of the games were very exciting and close, but the younger Rams combined skill and determination to win. 99
