We, the annual staff of Western Heights, wish to express our sincere hope that your 1964 annual will serve as a treasure chest of memories for many years to come. We hope we have included some interesting memories of each of you and that you will enjoy reading this annual as much as we have enjoyed preparing it for you. Re- member: Climb, though the rocks be rugged, For Success is the goal of Western Heights. Sandra Brill, Editor-in-Chief Miss Virginia Scoggins, Sponsor 2 Dedication We, the staff of 1964, are proud and honored to dedicate our yearbook to someone who has been with us throughout our school year and has always been willing to help us. In a sense he has been to us a blueprint upon which we can build as individuals. We are honored to dedicate this edition, Flight III, to our principal, Mr. Carl Hildebrand. 3 .ss f :mx .Ha :,.1w32qf1 1 :sim v,:s2z.ss1. -' mfsfb ,Msn 922522. mi' Uggfass w ' sam -Q if few my-w1.,, fuwg .,,,,:f5 qggggg-kgfg, - --mmf, if ..,,. ,Wa A.,, --3,1 -:Q ffia - Wg4gygm,.: f'Q,.fs5zzu 755W'5'f V I 53 : 5ffEE5 , ..mm,,.. CARL HILDEBRAND Senior High Principal Your Principals Speak It has often been said that no important civilization has ever risen where the conditions of life were easy and favorable. Remember, you will be account- able for the kind of world you pass on to succeeding generations. The road will be rough, but the rewards great. My every good wish is yours for your success in life. Set your goal high and reach for it. 5 L You are, at this point in life, about to establish a pattern which will remain with you the rest ofyour life. Some of you will seek to meet the responsibility through further education, while others will go di- rectly into the economic and social life of the community. Whatever avenue you choose, strive for the fullness of life that comes with the satisfaction of a job well done. Emerson said it best, We find in life exactly what we put in it. MR.
