One division of the Publications Department was the newspaper staff. This class had a two-fold purpose of publishing school news and studying the principles of journalism. We published a little Hornet weekly and put out three big Hornets this year. The first highlighted our Homecoming, the second was a spring issue, and the third was a graduation edition. We exchanged papers with other schools in our vicinity to gain helpful ideas. We made various con- tributions to the local Guilford Gazette, giving the people in our .community an awareness of our school's activities. Hornet Staff Yvonne sells big Hornet to an interested buyer. xxx MM L to R: G. East, C. Cockmanp M. Butler: S. Raines, P. Gordon, S. Bostiang W. Cummings, M. Koontz, Y. Welker, E. Taylor, D.
