Eighth Grade Attendants Sharon Hill and Nancy Rails. W. tweaks . . . t... -s . .. X. This year in float competition the win- ning float was presented by the eighth grade class with the theme of Blast the Bears . The freshman class received second place, while third place went to the sophomores. All of the floats submitted were great suc- cesses. A special attraction this year was the School Spirit float built by several students under the direction of lVlrs. Bray. This spe- cial float carried exhibits from each of the school's eight departments. The Homecoming game this year was played against lVlount Airy. The Hornets played a tough game but the final score was 20-6 in favor of the Mount Airy Bears.

Western Guilford Homecoming Dance , Western Guilford held its Homecoming dance on Friday, October 30. Despite the fact that the game was postponed due to inclement weather, the dance was held as scheduled. Sponsoring the dance were our capable cheerleaders. lnward Expansion provided the music. The Queen and her court were presented with the theme of Crystal Blue Persuasion . Regardless of the fact that our game was postponed, the dance was a huge success.
