A. Jones, Jordan, Lineberry, Raines, Ralls, Shaw, Troy, Wakefield, Walker, Wilson, Young, Smith, Vance, Flynt. This year, as always, there were many people who deserved to be recognized by the yearbook. All of these people-teachers, advisers, and others-con- tributed an important part to the growth of Western Guilford High School. However, this year, we made a departure from the norm and chose to honor not one, but a group of people. Their efforts have contributed greatly to our school's appearance and stature in the community. Since the new school was built, these men have worked hard to improve the school's athletic pro- gram. They have devoted their time, energy, and money to the betterment of our campus. In 1968 these thirty-eight men began a campaign to raise 340,000 to build the football field and athletic stadium. The field behind the school was graded and seeded, a sprinkler system was installed, the cinder track was laid, and electric lights were installed. The field was ready for use during the 1970 season. Plans are now in progress for concrete stands on the home side of the field. These men deserve a vote of appreciation from the student body for their hard work. So, to the Western Guilford High School Stadium Committee, we would like to say. . .Thank you.
