INTRODUCTION In the opening lines of A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dick- ens sets his scene with the words, iiIt was the best of times, It was the worst of times. But these words serve to describe, not only eighteenth-century Europe, but also the day-to-day events of our four-year college career. It was the best of times: it was Spring Weekends, hours in the Snack Bar, semester breaks, and those wonderful moments when we heard the bell of the Good Humor truck. But it was also the worst of times: five oiclock classes, iisnow days? park- ing tickets, term papers, and ID pictures. And there were the in-hetween times-the doldrums-the lost, or wasted, or forgotten times. Although we all tend, in retrospect, to remember only the best times, the staff of Pahquioque 1967 hopes that this year- book will recreate for everyone the best and worst times, all the most memorable events, of this past year. In producing this yearbook, special thanks are due to people without whose help Pahquioque would not have been possible. The first is our sponsor, Mrs. James, whose support and en- couragement were invaluable. Also, a special acknowledgment is due to James Findley, our publishefs representative, who endured numerous and seemingly endless delays and fractured schedules with unfailing good nature. And an extra thank-you to the staff, especially Nancy, Dianna and Sherry, the real iiwork horses? M.B.
