Twelve girls turned out and each did her part. Fourth periods were spent in playing work-up - knock-up - catch - batting practice - racing - calis- thenics. Exciting games tested our ability. We girls of the '56-'57 softball squad will always remember them - lost gloves -- high pop flies - broken bats - sliding into home - dirty faces - and that wonderful feeling when your bat connects and you see the ball sail over the fielders head for a homer.
