sl G E- 1973 L D dication . . . I HBut covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.U I Corinthians 12:31. The men at Western Bible Institute are seeking the best gifts. They are pouring out their lives into the lives of the students. In endeavoring to show us the more excellent way of life, they lead us into a greater realization of our one goal in life--conformity to Jesus Christ. One of these such men has been on campus for three years and his office and home have offered a haven of comfort because God was there. His family has been a shin- ing example of the Biblical view of the home--his children, a delight: his wife, an asset to his ministry. The classes he taught have ranged from blessing to boring, yet his sense of humor and concern for the students have always been evident. He has shown us by his life a walk of faith in God as the Sovereign, UAlmighty Ruler of the Skies.U We believe that in God's sovereignty, He sent us Mr. Gordon Petersen for three years, so that we might reap blessings from his life. It is in deep appreciation for the example he has been to us, humbly radiating Jesus Christ, that we dedicate this 1973 LIVESAGLOW to Mr. Pete. WESTERN BIBLE INSTITUTE MAILING ADDRESS: ITO. BOX 9332 DENVER, COLORADO 80200 - CAMPUS LOCA I ION MORRISON, COLORADO TELEPHONE: 303 o97-8l35 Dear Student, f No man has the capacity to be truly free until he comes to the knowledge of Christ. Many know well that they are not masters of their own lives. Life is a constant strug- gle as they fight with themselves, society and God. As a breath of fresh air, as a cool drink of water, Christ declares, lf the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. I Freedom in Christ is not freedom to do as we please, but freedom to do as Christ pleases and so wills for our lives. He sees and understands the entire world in which we live and our life-span from beginning to end, while we are only cognizant of the very day in which we live. Further His desire is to give us the very best in this life. He shares with us, Delight thyself in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thy heart. Consequently, when we run from the freedom we have in Christ we find ourselves in bondage. May you always experience the freedom that is available to you in our Lord Jesus Christ. The cabins were very nice and adequate for the cold weather, equipped with heaters and blankets The ride to Horn Creek was uneventful, but on the way home, the bus ran out of gas, which led to much hilarity and also an opportunity to witness to a State Patrol. X Time alone was profitable, as the students meditated on the rich thots presented by Russ Johnson. Mr. Boyd led the group in playing a wil game of rhythm! Russ Johnson had the whole group divide in to groups of four and make a chart of their spiritual life, sharing the ups and downs, It was an encouragement to see others' pro gress of growth. fThe main emphasis of the retreat was the kneed for fellowship between Christians, :rejoicing with and encouraging one another During tne entire weekend, Student Council president, Frank Branham, kept everyone motivated to look for applications in their lives.
