HARwooD JR. e Dear Graduates of 1964: The Bible reminds me of an office dictating machine. God has spoken into it, and as we read its pages, they transfer His living words to us. There are many things in the Bible which at first we may not be able to understand, be- cause, as the heaven is higher than the earth, so are God's thoughts higher than ours. Charles Haddon Spurgeon used to say to his students in London, that when he ate fish he did not attempt to swallow the bones, but he put them aside on his plate. The Bible contains 10, OOO promises -- it is God's book of signed checks. When you have found a promise which meets your need, do not ask God to keep His promise, as though He were unwilling to do so, but present it humbly in the Name of Jesus. Be sure that, as far as you know, you are fulfilling any condi- tions which may be attached, then look up into the face of your Heavenly Father, and tell Him you are reckoning on Him to do as He has said. It is for Him to choose the time and the manner of His answer, but wait quietly, be patient, and you will find that not a moment too late, God's response will be given. My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. QPsalm 62:55

The library with your many donated books, causes our minds to reflect on days gone by when we were led through the Scriptures and personally introduced to the shepherds, kings, queens, prophets, and the rest of your friends there. The many practical applications you made from the lives of those men and women of God only increased our desire to be faithful witnesses for the Lord. We shall continue to be grateful for the wayin which you were always available to anyone who needed help or guidance.
