P ,709 . 1 4 1 We wish to give honor to the late David Willoughby, who was one of the bright, 'promising young ministers of the United Pentecostal Church. His ministry was powerful, strong, and uncompromising., He deeply ap- preciated the Word of God, and he was an intense Crusader for righteousness and truth. Bro. Willoughby was born April 1, 1945, and was called home to be with the Lord on November 17, 1973. He graduated from Harry E. Wood High School and was given a scholarship to Purdue University. After attending the university for one year, the call of God became so strong in his life that he felt he could no longer continue in secular education. It was then that he chose to attend Western Apostolic Bible College and graduated three years later with high honors. After graduating from Bible School, he was a strong and loyal supporter of the College. On many different occasions, he expressed his appreciation for what he gained at Bible College. Here is an excerpt from one of his letters to the school dated February 8, 1971: I want you to know that I certainly do appreciate the way that Bible College helped me. The classes were informative. The chapel services were encouraging. The fellowship was great. The prayer meetings and consecration services were unforgettable. I will always be thankful for all of the faculty that gave of themselves to help me and my classmates. ldeeply ap- preciate the sacrifice that they've made over the years to the school, and I also thank God for their faithfulness in God's cause. David Willoughby entered the union of marriage with Elaine Reams on April 25, 1970. To this fine couple was born a daughter, Andrea Ruth, on February 28, 1972. In the few short years that he ministered, Brother Willoughby left a deep spiritual impact on all who heard him. Though his voice is stilled, the effects of his ministry will live on in the lives who have been so impressively touched through his God-given ministry. The United Pentecostal Church International has been strengthened because of the effects of this man's life.
