Willie Renison, a dedicated man of God who was called home to be with his Lord on April 22, 1972. Although Bro. Renison is gone from our midst, our memories of him linger on.. Bro. Renison received the Holy Ghost in the First Pentecostal Church of Stockton in 1933. Since that time he has been a great asset to the work of God. He was a faithful member of the Stockton Church for many years before moving to Burney, California where he assisted his son Rev. Jack Renison in the church and building programs. While Bro. Renison was in Stockton, he spent many hours of labor at First Pentecostal Church and also at the Western Apostolic Bible College. He was instrumental in helping to erect many of the buildings on the WABC campus. Bro. Renison, along with his good wife who cooked for the school, will always be remembered for their labor of love at WABC. The Editorial Staff , 1 EQUIPPED FOR THE TASK The power behind us is greater than the task before us. The great truth behind this statement which is being echoed throughout our fellowship is the center-core of our educational endeavor at Western Apostolic Bible College. ln equipping young men and women for the great task before them, we have dedicated ourselves to the educating, teaching, and showing to them their ready access to the fervent, conqueroring power of Almighty God. At Western Apostolic Bible College, we are careful to emphasize the Spirit because we do not believe we are fighting a verbal, natural warfare. We do not believe that a simple Head Knowledge of the Bible and of the works of God will instill within a young person the ability to win the lost. Soul-winningis not simply the rangingof two conflicting viewpoints on the doctrines of the Bible. If that were the case, we would simply teach the debate techniques of man. But we are fighting a spiritual warfare! Therefore, we are careful to emphasize the need for ascertaining that great source of power, the Spirit of God, which truly equips us for the task. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but againstprincipalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness ofthis world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God... Ephesians 6:12-13a. The armor for the battle is loins girted with the truth, the breastplate of righteousness, having the feet shod with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit. We are not manufacturing the equipment for the taakg God has already made the weapons available, but we are helping young men and women don the whole armor of God expounding unto them the need for strong soul-winners and how to put their weapons to use effectively for the work of the Lord. Students learn to appreciate the basic truths of salvation. As school progresses, they begin to delve into the Word of God and to search out the great mysteries of Daniel, Revelation, and the other great books of the Bible. Outreach programs are made available to them ranging from neighborhood visitation to the drug or prison ministry. Students begin to express themselves through the medium of participation. We do not believe that the United Pentecostal Church needs an influx of spiritually impotent scholars. Rather, we need spiritually anointed, functioning pastors, evangelists, and soul-winners who will carry the gospel of Christ. We believe holiness is the emblem of warfare. God called us to be a separate people - Come out from among them, and be ye separate .... God did not call us out to conform to the world and preach a weak, insipid social gospel as some do. But we will preach the powerful, penetrating holiness message that God has ordained for His church!! We realize that in order for us to be equipped for the great task before us, we must have an appreciation for the basic fundamentals of truth for which our forefathers so dearly fought. lt was their strong stands against worldliness, compromise, and private interpretations of scritpure that has delivered unto us the power-packed message of true salvation. It is their victory that gives us power that is GREATER THAN THE TASK BEFORE US!! The learning in depth of that Spiritual Power and the Active Expression through Participation is the reason for Western Apostolic Bible College. We are helping the soldiers to equip for the Mid? Rev. Kenneth F. Haney President great task which lies before themg eagle . student to engoy the blessings of ial student with an outlet to ex the year. The College President student body once each week. This proverb is still just as true today. The Crusaders League is made up of those in the school who desire to be used of God and have proven that desire by spending time in active work of God. Teams, such as prayer, music, witnessing, preaching, hospital evangelism, and many others must be complet- ed before a student is qualified to apply for admission. Mil, yy ,W The Alethian Class of '73 has had a very eventful and memorable stay at Apostolic Senior High School. P Wi In September of 1970, a fresh group of Sophomores began their school- ldv ing. A. S. H. S. was something altogether new and different for us. Under f . the leadership of Darryl Seibold, dues were established and projects were AQ 4 arranged. We went on a fun-filled outing to sunny Santa Cruz with the funds that were raised. In 1971, a large group of Juniors was ready to have a blessed and arduous year. Finding out that Sis. Margie Ramirez was to be our sponsor again and Darryl Seibold once more president, plans immediately went forward for the highlight of the year which was the Junior-Senior Banquet. Projects included selling tostadas, stationery, and our famous grinders. Memory recalls some bake sales in chilly weather and car washes in warm weather. The work was hard .but all cooperated, and in some pre- cious devotional services the theme song of the class became Through It All. Cooperation in dues was 1002, and we were accompanied by the Sophomore Class for a joint outing to Comanche Lake where a beautiful devotional service concluded a wonderful day of recreation. Perhaps what stands out most is the Junior-Senior Banquet that was so divinely blessed. God stirred the hearts of all present. The theme was Henceforth. . .Take Hold Your Challenge. Because of the unity that we had, almost all the class returned in 1972 for our senior year. Mark Lopez took the position of president, and again the year has been a time of hard work. A senior trip to Disneyland was planned and carried out because full cooperation by the class was outstanding in all fund raising activities. Now, as Seniors about to set out on the road of adulthood, we are grateful for what God has instilled in our hearts. Our purpose is to serve the Master where He wills. Thank you, Apostolic Senior High School for all the memories, re- vivals, classes, scoldings, outings, tears, tests, report cards, good times and bad times, and most of all, your teachings of truth. Along with all of these we would like to extend our appreciation to the present Junior Class for their providing a wonderful banquet for our class this year It was a beautiful banquet and we thoroughly enjoyed everything We the 73 Alethians declare Through it all we have learned to trust in Jesus lil' '4 ' 554 pw x We -511- 1 ' , ' ' . The group enjoyed a good time of fellowship and relax- ation at a near-by lake and swinging bridge before the dinner. A touching skit was presented by the Juniors and caused each one to Search his heart and be warned of the tempta- tions of Satan. The head table is shown as Sis Cheryl Allen leads a congregational song before Bro. David McKnight the guest speaker, delivers the eve ning message. His words of encour agement were appreciated. A special Week's revival was the highlight of the year. Many received refillings and all were drawn closer to the Lord. The sounds of Worship and praise coming from the chapel drew many to see what was going on. 'Wc'.Lf 'lf 9 ' The Ambassadors Club is a special group in the High School who seek to dedicate them- selves to prayer and working in special church services. This fine group has gone on several occasions to neighboring churches to speak and sing the message of the Lord Jesus. A highlight of the year was the Ambassadors Banquet held in Rio Vista at the Point. Bro. Paul White challenged us to live for God.
