A June l, l962 t'se, that the theme of God is Dear Students and Friends: lt seems most fitting, as we set forth this short trea i OUR TREASURE should be centered around UA Rockng not only because our declared to be a Roch, but also we feel in part this solidity has been a manifest attribute of this class who have by conquest completed their course. There are perhaps many formations of God's creation more attractive than that of stone, yet no object is used so extensively to describe stability and dura- bility as a rock. A common comparison to this is the almost unusual phrase, nLiKe the Rock of Gibraltoru. lt was with this formation Jesus employed to express the security of his Church when he said, U..Wpon this Roch T will build my Church...'. He also pictured the individual whose experience stood the storms of life because he built his house upon the rock. lt is to this rock like stability your whole curriculum at WESTERN APOSTOLTC BTBLE COLLEGE has been centered with the purpose in mind of conditioning your ministry to stand uncompromising in the fast-growing storms of apostasy and a Laodicean spirit of peaceful co-existance. When your world around you is being shaken, may God help you to ever Uremember the things thou has learnedu, and nthough heaven and earth should pass away, his Word will never pass away.U To the many friends of WESTERN APOSTOLlC BTELE COLLEGE, may we express our gratitude for your solid support of the College. lt is this co-operation that makes the sending forth of trained workers possible, and also, it is this support that makes it possible for you to share with the staff of WESTERN APOSTOLJC ETBLE COLLEGE in the harvest of souls reaped by these ministers as they go into the whitened harvest fields. Finally, may we all collectively consume from the honey in the Rook and drink ame spiritual rock which is Christ until he comes. Yours in Christ, from that s Rev . In the year 1936, the area was divided due to the growth of the work in the district. The Western District then consis- ted of California, Nevada, and Arizona. In the year of 1945, the name of the Western District was changed to the WESTERN DISTRICT OF THE UNITED PENTECOST AL CHURCH INCORPORATED. At the present time the Western District consists of California and Nevada. Various District Superintendents have contributed much to the growth and progress of the District. The First District Superintendent was Rev. J. A. Johnson who served from 1930 to 1936. The second was Rev. W. R. Pair who served from 1936 to 1938. Rev. Harry Morris served from 1938 to 1940. Rev. I. A. Johnson was again leected to office in 1940 and served until 1948. Rev. Odell Cagle served from 1948 to 1955. Rev. G. S. Roney served from 1955 to 1961. Rev. W. R. Pair, our present superinten- dent, was again elected to office in 1961. We greatly appreciate these who have helped to promote the Western District.
