I 1 'll Il 1111 IIRJIBTIJI 6'cCz,'caZ?b77f The editors of OUR TREASURE Annual Staff chose for this honor a teacher and pioneer BUILDER in the King- dom of God whose efforts have blessed every student. His Spiritual life began in 1921 when he received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Twelve years later he received the revelation of Jesus Name Baptism and the Oneness of the Godhead. Ever since he has been a staunch promoter of the gospel and recognized Bible Teacher. He served as a District Presbyter of the Pen- tecostal Church, Incorporated for several years. Bro. Frank Van Buskirk founded the local Church by first renting a hall on Mission Street. Later a lot was purchased and a church built one block from where the present home church of W.A.B.C. now stands on 1700 E. Harding Way. Bro. Van Buskirk was among the first pioneer teachers of Western Apostolic Bible College and has been teach- ing every year since it began. We hope that our book will be found worthy of the man, his learning, and his teaching. Sf Q 1- ,.l HISTORY On Ocnober 5, 1953, Western Apostolic Bible Col- lege opened its doors for the entrance of its first stu- dents who were desirous of becoming BUILDERS in the, Kingdom of God. This school was dedicated to the CAUSE OF CHRIST on June 21, 1953, and was officially accepted and endorsed by the United Pentecostal Church at the General Conference in Columbus, Ohio, in 1954. When the grounds were purchased, there was only one quaint, old, two-story building located at the rear of the property. This house was remodeled for usage as a girls' dormitory and dining room. At the front of the three and one-half acres, a new building was erected for use as classrooms, chapel, office, and boys' dormitory. When growth in the school created a need for more buildings, in 1955 another building was added. The boys' dormitory and teachers' residence were begun in 1956 and 'completed in 1957. Growth has rapidly taken place, and no doubt. CONSTRUCTION will take place again and again as more young people come to Western Apostolic Bible College to learn how to better build for Christ. Administration Building Classroom Building Teachers' Residence Boys' Dormitory Girls' Dormitory THE PRESIDENT SPEAKS THE HINGES OF DECISION ON THE DOOR OF DESTINY The last screw was set in the last hinge. Yes, the DOOR was hung, and it swings open and shut hour after hour, day after day, and year after year. It is the office DOOR on the administration building of W.A.B.C. It is not just an ordinary DOOR of wood with hinges of irong it is a DOOR of symbolic figure. For through this DOOR enter the young men and women who feel the burning call of God. but at the same time feel un- equipped and unpolished to face the big job of presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As they daily sit in the Holy presence of God under the counsel of Spirit filled in- structors, they not only find themselves, but also find the way to a fuller life in God. Three years have hastened into the shadows of history, and now again, the DOOR OF DESTINY swings open on its hinges of decision. Out into the whitened harvest fields go the young men and women who three years before made a decision to prepare for a God-planned destiny in life. To these exceptionally fine workers, our 1958 graduating class, we fervently say, Congratulations and God Bless You. We feel confident that future decisions of life will be met with the same wisdom and gallantry, and that con- quering hands will open the future DOORS OF DESTINY--DOORS that will emerge fi- nally into God's great eternal plan for the ages.
