Melinda Douglas President Twelve years of life were devoted towards an education; to all those who helped the Class of 1980 attain knowledge, we are deeply greateful and your efforts are much appreciated. However, just as important, yet often overlooked, is the knowledge we received from one another. Being together in a close situation, forces us to learn to deal with ourselves as well as each other. You learn that you have to be yourself. You cannot let peers twist you into being what they need and you must not change yourself to be accepted by the group. If this happens you lose your identity and with that you lose yourself. Yet at the same time, you must learn from other people not to change yourself. Listen to what they say and improve upon what you are. There is a fine line to walk between the two. I wish you both the ability in determining for yourself where that line is, and the skill to walk it without falling off. Melinda Douglas Class President Class Officers 25
