He dreamt of a world of fantasy, He touched the minds of many, eager to learn. He taught them of Arthur, of an Albatross, Of ax, bx, 1 and 2. He taught them to dream of better things, Of tomorrow’s changes, And an Age of Love. To him, a Dreamer, do we, Hopes of a past generation of Dreamers, Dedicate these pages. MRM DEDICATION Charles J. The very sincerest thank you, Cannot dearly express, The gratitude that we all share, For what you’ve done for us. By your words you infused wisdom, By your laughter you brought mirth, By your deeds you molded character, And gave it meaning and worth. We hold you among the goddesses, Among the scholars of history, But most of all, you’ve been a friend, A friend for all eternity. LMC 4 DEDICATION Miss Eva M. Desprcs

Class of 1970: These are times when all of us are likely to feel overwhelmed by the speed and complexity of the varied modern developments presented by society today. But as each year passes, we see that change is generally for the good of all. Changes, whether social or educational, assist our appreciation of the true wonders of knowledge and progress. As this school year comes to a close, each of you eventually will be called upon to help decide whether the forces of change within our society and educational institutions, will be used for the advancement of human dignity or be misused, as in the past, for man’s loss of dignity. No doubt your educational experiences at Westerly High School will assist you in discovering the positive aspects of our changing society and as a result, you will be more effective in directing change from the bad to the ultimate good of your fel-lowman. Good luck and best wishes to each of you. Sincerely yours, Gerald M. Dunn, Principal GERALD M. DUNN To the Class of 1970: You have reached the first major milestone of your life: Graduation from Westerly High School! You were given the opportunities for learning and you took advantage of these opportunities. You reached this milestone not only because of the influence and guidance of your parents and teachers, but also because you wanted to finish high school. There are two ways for you to look upon your graduation. You might see it as the end of a long road, or the beginning of a new journey. Look forward, not backward. Set for yourself a goal in life. Do not cut down your aims to the level of your present ability, but rather raise your abilities to the height of your aims. Have faith and trust that life, chance, help from others, and your own growing experience and ability will, in time, furnish you the means of achieving your goal. Sincerely yours, EDWARD T. MORENZONI Superintendent of Schools EDWARD T. MORENZONI 6
