DEDICATION Ralph S. Coppa Vice Principal 1966-1968 You have brought your hand into our hearts, And passing by the weak, you drew out to the light All the beautiful belongings that no one else Had looked quite far enough to find. Without a sign, Without a touch, You have done this to us. Perhaps that is what being a friend means. ALM 4

A CHILD WALKS ON TO TOMORROW The rising of the sun sets the new day wherein the leaves will fall to the rivers; the rivers will run to the seas, and the seas will forever clap against the pebbled shores. Across these shores the wind will eternally play with the sand, tossing it high and sprinkling it down over the earth. Then the wind travels on; now across the sands and time, over the meadows of its past, down the hills into the valley. Joyfully whistling its way up through the thick grass, it captures the birds’ sweet chorus sifting it gently through the branches of the trees. Now the ears of a child hear its melodious tones, and he mixes it with the sounds of his mocking and laughs as he unknowingly follows life’s chosen paths. The sun floats down, filling the sky with cascades of glorious colors . . . colors whose brightness is forever free of tarnish, for at this instant the beauty of the moment is tucked safely away awaiting another new day. With the sun,, the wind and the seas a child walks on to tomorrow. TPG

IN MEMORIAM Jane Marshall THE INNOCENCE OF DARKNESS A deep black sky dotted with light, A golden moon shone very bright, Drifting through clouds quite lazily Playing with all its secrecy — A little game of hide and seek, Played only by the soft and meek. But once the moon did not appear; A cloud had trapped the gentle sphere, For some time now, no light on earth Too late to realize all the worth. Such light as this from just one source Could be for us, a saddened loss. JLB 5
