Fellow Classmates, Teachers, Parents, and Friends: The common path we have tread together for the past three years has ended. We have reached the portals to the future, which only by means of our diplomas can be unlocked. In retrospect, memories of our life together return. No more do we feel the insecurity and inquisitiveness we as Sophomores felt. No longer are we able to look forward to the plans of our Senior year, to the excitement of proms and dances, to the organization of plays and concerts, to the undivided interest of our sports program-to the satisfaction of accomplishment as a unit. Behind this door are individual paths stretching far and widej separating the com- ponents of this world. Perhaps some of the roadways of this maze may cross, bringing a few together once more and again perhaps our paths will be paralleled forever. Before we turn the key to our future lives, we sincerely extend our gratefulness to our parents, who have sacrificed so that we might obtain all that we haveg to our teachers, who patiently strove to clear the briars and branches blocking passageg to Mrs. Moore and Mr. Love, our guidance counselors, who have led us through the thickets of education in this vast forest of knowledgeg and finally to Miss Gernsheimer, not forgetting her vital contributions. As the door is finally opened and we boldly confront the tribulations of the adult world, may we never forget the major roles Westerly High School has prominently played in preparing us for higher education, for responsibility, and for human society.
