GEORGE R. VISGILIO, JR. Class President PRESlDENT'S ADDRESS Fellow Classmates, Teachers, Parents, and Friends: Our three years at Westerly High School have come to a close, but the memories of the wonderful times we have enjoyed here will live with us forever. We shall never forget the excitement of athletic contests, the fun of hops and proms, and, most important, the satisfaction of successful scholastic endeavor. Because we have so thoroughly enjoyed our high school edu- cation, we would like to thank all those who have made it a reality. We thank our parents, who have sacrificed so greatly that we might benefit from a wholesome family life and a sec- ondary school education. We thank the taxpayers and town officials of Westerly, who have provided us with such an excel- lent school system. We thank our teachers, who have not only instructed us in the different high school subjects, but have also instilled in us a knowledge of the basic principles of society which will be so valuable to us as we take our places in the community. Finally, we thank our principal, Mr. Stevens, our guidance director, Mr. Love, and our class counselor, Mrs. Moore - all of whom have contributed so greatly to the success of the Class of 1959. We extend out best wishes to the faculty, who, together with the underclassmen, have made our days at Westerly High School such a pleasant memory. To the undergraduates, we wish the glowing satisfaction which is the result of personal betterment. We hope that they will treasure their days at Westerly High School as much as we cherish ours. We, the Class of 1959, because we wish to express our deep- est gratitude to an institution which has done so much to make us good American citizens and intelligent human beings, do dedicate ourselves, as we continue in life, to uphold the lofty ideals and honored traditions of Westerly High School.
