In November 1956 we had a taste of democracy by conducting a mock election under the supervision of Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith believes that learning is facilitated through participation and observation. His untiring efforts to carry on such demonstrations as a mock election and a model legislature are proof of this. Ruth vars, Populist Chairman, and Jack Eld-ridge, Progressive Chairman, conducted their political campaigns similar to those of our nation. The runner-ups were Carolyn Giorno and Pat Nardone. February 15 brought with it the excitement of the annual Army-Navy game. Distribution of blue and gold decorations to Navy fans and orange and brown ornaments to Army fans helped to build enthusiasm. Pat Nardone, Jacquic Joy, and Lois Spo-sato, representing Navy, and Mary Wilson and Ruth Vars, representing Army, were chosen to play for their respective teams.
