The Class of 57 takes credit for introducing standardized uniform class rings. We did this to promote the idea of W H S. graduates having uniform class rings each year, not two or three styles as in the past. We elected Pat Nardone and Matt Lewiss to be our junior Yearbook representatives. With Leap Year on its way, we forestalled plans for a Leap Year Dance. Our school was well represented when Phyllis Pie-traallo, Ruth Vars and Jac-quie Joy attended the Girls’ State program at Providence. The annual affair is sponsored by the American Legion. In April and May many of us began contemplating attending schdols of higher education. Brown Hope High School, and Providence College were settings of nervous apprehensive juniors approaching

Before long, February was here again, and in preparation for the Sweetheart Swing, we chose Joan Rindell and Nancy Gen-carella as candidates for the Queen of Hearts. Matt Lewiss and Carolyn Giorno, Co-Chairmen of Garden of Roses, did an excellent job on our first prom. The theme was carried out to a T” with a miniature waterfall and fresh colorful flowers.
