HISTORY Gencarella, and Marcia Hamilton, respectively, as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer of our class. On the agenda of our first official meeting was the important subject of class dues. After a lengthy discussion regarding the annual fee which would be required of each student, we finally accepted the plan whereby we would pay 50 cents as sophomores, 75 cents as juniors, and $1 as seniors. Many sophomores helped to build the football squad of 55. The annual Sweetheart Swing was being planned by the Student Council. We elected Dolores Serra and Ruth Vars to represent our class. A very bright star certainly must have guided us through our first social event, our Sophomore Hop. We attribute its tremendous success to the chairman, Ruth Vars. We chose for our theme Three Coins in a Fountain. The center of attraction was the rippling fountain into which wishful lovers tossed coins. Other evidence of the beauty of Mother Nature was displayed by an artificial arbor. Sprays of flowers on the gym walls added much to the general effect.
