PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS Fellow Classmates, Teachers, Parents, and Friends: It hardly seems possible that three short years ago we entered Ward Senior High as sophomores. It was a great feeling and a great honor to enter this school in the fall of 1954. It is with greater feeling and a greater sense of pride and honor that we leave our beloved school in the spring of 1957. We shall all carry many pleasant memories of our joyous days here and shall never forget the friendships we have established during these three happy years. We shall always cherish the wonderful times we have had; the excitement of the athletic contests, the fun of the interesting classes and teachers, and the fun of the dances and different programs throughout our three years. We should graduate this year with the feeling that we have all benefited considerably from these well-rounded experiences. We must realize that our graduation was made possible by the combined efforts of many people. We thank the taxpayers of the town of Westerly, without whose help we could not have received our education. We thank our many wonderful teachers who have so ably guided us through our three years at Ward Senior High. They have supplied us with the proper tools — it is now up to us to use them to their fullest advantage. We express deep gratitude to our principal, Mr. Stevens, and to our class advisor, Mr. Morgan, who have contributed greatly to the success of our class. Mr. Morgan has not only been a great advisor, but a wonderful friend — one we shall never forget. Our three wonderful years at Westerly High School would never have been the same without the undergraduates. It is the sincere hope of the class of 1957 that the class of 1958 and all succeeding classes may uphold the fine record that we, the class of 1957, have established here at Westerly High School. We now step over the threshold of high school, out into the big wide world which holds much in store for us. Many of us will continue ur education; many will find jobs and go to work; still others will enter the service. May I wish each and every member of the class of 1957 the best of luck in all your future undertakings, whatever they may be, and God be with you!” JAMES A. LEPIKKO President, Class of 1957 10
