FINIZIO ur President PRESIDENTS ADDRESS Fellow Classmates, Members of the Faculty, Parents, and Friends: Three beloved years at Vfard Senior High School have now come to an end. We shall always value the memories and friendships established here during these three happy years. We are thankful for the splendid times we have had, the fun of the dances and entertainments, the thrills of athletic contests, the pleasures of interesting classes, and finally the satisfaction of academic achievement. The personality of each member of our class has benehted from these well-rounded experiences. We are thankful for the oppor- tunities provided for us by the townspeople of Westerly. As we pause in retrospect, we realize that the efforts of many have been combined to help us. We express our gratitude to our parents who have sacrificed much to provide for us both an honest, substantial home life and the opportunity to obtain a formal education. We thank the taxpayers of the town of Westerly and the administrative oflicers for providing and conducting our school system. We thank our teachers and advisers who have skillfully guided our scholastic progress, proving friendly and helpful to each and every member of the Class of 1956. We express deep gratitude to our prin- cipal, Mr. Stevens, and to our counselor, Mrs. Moore, both of whom have contributed greatly to the success of our class. We extend our best wishes to the undergraduates, who, in conjunction with the faculty, have made Westerly High School a pleasant memory to the members of the graduating class. To the undergraduates we wish the satisfaction of accomplishment such as the Class of 1956 has gained in three years at Westerly High. Graduation day is truly a commencement of living, not an end. Receiving a diploma is not necessarily a farewell gesture to Westerly High School and all the friendly rela- tions that have gone with .it. We shall cherish especially the training and ideals incul- cated during our school career. We, the Class of 1956, expressing our continued interest in the welfare of the school, do pledge, as we go forth, to uphold the honored ideals and traditions of Westerly High School. C Norman J.
