Principal 's Message This edition of Le Raconteur is the fifteenth in which I, as principal, have been asked to contribute a brief fore- word. When thinking of what to write I am faced with the perennial problem, that the mirror of the pages to follow and the reputation of Westdale leave nothing for me to do except to commend the stahl and the students for the ex- cellence of their many and varied achievements. Should I be asked to define in one word the sum of characteristics worthy of a Westdale student I would say loyaltyg called by John Ruskin the noblest word in the catalogue of social virtue . I particularly welcome the opportunity to congratulate the editor and stay? on the form and content of this maga- zine. As the years pass and memories dim it will help to conjure up the days lived at Westdale. 7
