ps ey mri x ir) no oY, i, Oe ON uf te Caan ‘ rie Fo bee Acknowledgemen Ss As a result of the help of twenty staffers and five photographers we hope to have conveyed an accurate picture of the 1969-70 school year at Westchester High School. A new decade dawned and from it came the theme of this year’s book— the ‘70's. Special effects in the way of spot color were used for a new look. Also various screens were used to create an unusual type of book. On this page, it is my opportunity to express my appre- ciation and thanks to those students who put it all together. First, a special thanks goes to LISA BENNETT for the idea of 1970 as the theme of the book. And the photographers—they were invaluable and should receive much more credit than any one person could give. Split thanks go to MRS. TERRY ORR, who pushed us through our first two deadlines and to MRS. NANETTE WIESE, whose persistence got our pages in on time for the last two. And last, but not least to MR. D‘EON PRIEST, who deserves a heartfelt thanks for the innumerable hours, both on the phone and here which he spent with us. And a big thanks goes to you—the stu- dent, for without you there would not have been a story to be told. Sincerely, — Becky Jolly, Editor 376

The staff of the 1970 MIACIS wishes to dedicate this book to their dear friend and former staffer, Margie Atwood. Her achieve- ments were many and her influence great. She helped set up the foundations for the new Student Council here in the summer of 1967, after serving as a Freshman officer and Representative to the Student Council at Memorial. In her Junior year she held the position of Executive Committeeman. She was also with the Drill Team their first year at the S.M.U. Pep Squad and Drill Team School, and also the second year, serving as Staff Sergeant for Company B. She was hon- ored by receiving the Spirit Award given by the Wranglerettes. She was also on the MIACIS. staff for two years working with advertising. An avid club goer, she was Secretary for both the English Honor Society and the Future Teachers of America Club. In addition, she was Vice-President of Gamma Sigma Chi. It is because of all these honors and achievements that we feel she deserves the recognition and dedication of this book. Westchester is truly indebted to her for her leadership and influence. pecigtehger nen a he | |
